John Julian’s iconic porcelain Small Ball Pestle with Flat Mortar are loved by customers and chefs alike. The unique sculptural shapes of the mortar and pestle are hand-thrown, and the unglazed finish make it a real tactile pleasure to use. It has a shallow mortar, adapted for better grinding and paste making as well as making it a statement piece for any kitchen.
For best results, use the pestle with a rocking motion. Please note these pieces are individually hand made, there may be some slight variation in size and detail.

- Both Mortar and Pestle are hand thrown individually
- Mortar: Approximately 18cm wide x 3.8cm high
- Pestle: 10.5cm high
- Easily cleaned in soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge.

As each piece is made by hand there will sometimes be some slight variation in colour and size, but we see this as part of their individual character and charm.
